Ground Turkey Helper

Ingredients

- 2 lbs ground turkey
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 medium zucchini, sliced
- 1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups no-sugar-added spaghetti sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 pinch oregano
- 5 ounces uncooked spaghetti, broken into 1 to 2 inch lengths
- 1/2 cup lowfat mozzarella cheese, grated
Recipe
- 1 fry the ground turkey, onion and garlic in large non-stick frying pan for 4-5 minutes.
- 2 add zucchini and mushrooms.
- 3 cook for 6-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until turkey is no longer pink.
- 4 drain.
- 5 add water, spaghetti sauce, basil,and oregano.
- 6 heat until boiling.
- 7 add pasta.
- 8 reduce heat.
- 9 cover.
- 10 simmer for 30 minutes or until pasta is tender but firm and liquid is mostly absorbed.
- 11 add mozzarella cheese.
- 12 stir until melted.
