Easiest Ever Beef Casserole

- 515 g beef
- 1 onion
- 1 leek
- 1 stick celery
- 150 g carrots
- 150 g mushrooms
- 2 teaspoons mixed herbs
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 1 tablespoon tomato puree
- 2 tablespoons brown sauce
- 250 ml beer
- 1 tablespoon cornflour
- 2 tablespoons water

Recipe
- 1 preheat the oven to 150c/130c fan/gas 2. put the beef in a large casserole dish with the vegetables and gently mix together.
- 2 sprinkle on the herbs. heat 350ml in a pan until simmering. remove from the heat and add the stock, puree, and brown sauce, then stir until dissolved. add the ale, beer, or water.
- 3 pour over the meat. cover and bake for 4 hours. stir in the cornflour paste, cover and return to the oven for 5 minutes. serve with mash.
