Easiest Ever Beef Casserole

Total Time: 4 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 4 hrs 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 515 g beef
  • 1 onion
  • 1 leek
  • 1 stick celery
  • 150 g carrots
  • 150 g mushrooms
  • 2 teaspoons mixed herbs
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 2 tablespoons brown sauce
  • 250 ml beer
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • potato

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 150c/130c fan/gas 2. put the beef in a large casserole dish with the vegetables and gently mix together.
  • 2 sprinkle on the herbs. heat 350ml in a pan until simmering. remove from the heat and add the stock, puree, and brown sauce, then stir until dissolved. add the ale, beer, or water.
  • 3 pour over the meat. cover and bake for 4 hours. stir in the cornflour paste, cover and return to the oven for 5 minutes. serve with mash.
