Grandma Landers's Chicken 'n' Rice

Total Time: 1 hr 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 whole chicken, cut into 8 pieces
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon fresh garlic, chopped
  • 1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 pour uncooked rice on the bottom of a 9" x 13" pan. top with onions.
  • 3 season chicken with salt and pepper and lay over the rice.
  • 4 combine soups, broth, and garlic. pour over chicken and bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, until chicken is tender and rice is cooked.
