Crusty French Mushroom Rolls

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 6 -8 bread rolls, round

Recipe

  • 1 simmer mushrooms in 1/4 cup of butter for about 5 minutes.
  • 2 melt remaining butter in saucepan and add flour to make a paste.
  • 3 add milk, salt and pepper to taste and whisk until sauce is thick.
  • 4 add mushroom butter mix to the sauce and cook for a few minutes longer.
  • 5 warm bread rolls in the oven. when crisp, slice open and remove the soft centre.
  • 6 lightly butter the hollowed out rolls and heat again.
  • 7 spoon the mushroom mixture into the rolls and serve.
