Grandma Joan's Awesome Breakfast/brunch Casserole

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 9
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages brown and serve sausages (8-10 per package)
  • 2 cups seasoned croutons (we use brown betty)
  • 3 cups sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups milk (mix with eggs)
  • 1 (6 1/2 ounce) can mushrooms (sliced or pieces)
  • 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk (mix with cream of mushroom soup)

Recipe

  • 1 layer 1 box croutons in a 9 by 13 in pan. set aside.
  • 2 microwave sausage. cut into bite size pieces. sprinkle sausage pieces throughout pan over croutons.
  • 3 layer with cheddar cheese.
  • 4 layer cheese with mushroom soup mixture.
  • 5 beat or whip eggs until egg and yolk are thoroughly combined.
  • 6 gently stir or whip the 2 1/2 cups milk into egg mixture until combined.
  • 7 pour egg/milk mixture over casserole. cover, and refrigerate for 24 hours.
  • 8 let casserole come to room temperature for 30 minutes before baking.
  • 9 bake, uncovered, in a 350 degree oven for 50 - 55 minutes let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
