Baked Pierogy Parmigiana

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen pierogies
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 (8 ounce) package mushrooms, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 place pierogies in boiling water until hot, 3-4 minutes; drain.
  • 2 saute onions, mushroms and garlic in oil until soft.
  • 3 add marinara sauce, salt and pepper to onion mixture.
  • 4 heat to boiling and cook 5 minutes.
  • 5 in a 2 quart casserole, arrange pierogies and onion mixture.
  • 6 cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • 7 sprinkle with parmesan cheese, if desired.
