Gourmet Rice

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 1/2 cups rice
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup celery
  • 1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 teaspoon marjoram
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme

Recipe

  • 1 brown rice in 1 tablespoon of butter& 2 tablespoons of oil till toasted (light brown).
  • 2 bring water to a boil, add salt& toasted rice.
  • 3 cover and cook for 20 minutes.
  • 4 while rice is cooking chop onion& celery.
  • 5 saute onion, celery& mushrooms in remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and add seasonings.
  • 6 add cooked rice and toss to blend.
