Easy (mostly Traditional) Caesar Salad

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 slices cubed bread
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 large romaine lettuce
  • 3 radishes, sliced
  • 1 cup mushroom, sliced
  • 2 -3 green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup bacon bits
  • 1/3 cup fresh parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons anchovy paste (1/3 of a tube)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 raw egg yolk
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Recipe

  • 1 croutons:.
  • 2 melt margarine in skillet. add garlic and saute one minute. add bread cubes and stir with wooden spoon until toasty. set aside.
  • 3 dressing:.
  • 4 add all dressing ingredients into a jar and shake until smooth. dressing will keep up to 2 days in fridge.
  • 5 salad:.
  • 6 at serving time, tear up romaine leaves. add sliced mushrooms, radishes, green onions bacon bits and croutons.
  • 7 when ready to serve, add dressing to salad and toss. top with grated parmesan and serve immediately.
