Easy (mostly Traditional) Caesar Salad

Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons margarine
- 2 slices cubed bread
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 large romaine lettuce
- 3 radishes, sliced
- 1 cup mushroom, sliced
- 2 -3 green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup bacon bits
- 1/3 cup fresh parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons anchovy paste (1/3 of a tube)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 raw egg yolk
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Recipe
- 1 croutons:.
- 2 melt margarine in skillet. add garlic and saute one minute. add bread cubes and stir with wooden spoon until toasty. set aside.
- 3 dressing:.
- 4 add all dressing ingredients into a jar and shake until smooth. dressing will keep up to 2 days in fridge.
- 5 salad:.
- 6 at serving time, tear up romaine leaves. add sliced mushrooms, radishes, green onions bacon bits and croutons.
- 7 when ready to serve, add dressing to salad and toss. top with grated parmesan and serve immediately.
