Easy 15-minute Beef Stroganoff

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb round steak, 1/4 inch thick
  • 3 ounces broiled sliced mushrooms (undrained)
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Recipe

  • 1 trim fat from meat and reserve.
  • 2 cut meat diagonally in very thin strips.
  • 3 heat fat in skillet until there are 3 tbsp melted fat (may need to add oleo/butter if beef is very lean).
  • 4 remove trimmings.
  • 5 brown meat.
  • 6 add 2/3 cup water and mushrooms.
  • 7 stir in soup mix.
  • 8 heat to boiling.
  • 9 blend sour cream and flour.
  • 10 add to hot mixture.
  • 11 cook and stir until mixture thickens.
  • 12 sauce will be thin.
  • 13 serve over rice or noodles.
